Sitting under the night sky, I see the world go by,
Lonely are the stars, the moon in the scene,
Under the full moon's glow, in Scarborough,
Cold winds blow,
Chatter the night fox, talk the beings,
Sparkles the night sky, but no one is seeing.
A fair goes by,
Lights turn on, off and on again,
Winterludes fade in, out and in again,
The fair has gone,
Leaving once more alone, while the winds blow,
The stars and the moon in their glow.
Sitting under the night sky, I see the world go by,
The bells carol, the Adder waits close,
The wind blows way,
And with it, takes away,
Layers of my being, till,
I too go by, slowly, inevitably.
